Philly Stuffed Burger

When in Philly…

From kimmyscucina to Philadelphia.

The last few days we have been in Philadelphia soaking up the culture and enjoying some delicious food.

We had a day to really walk the city and see the sites. Yes, of course we saw the Liberty Bell…it was a first for me. So much history in this city.

We also were able to meet up with some friends from our “younger” days and really enjoyed our time catching up with them! No better time than to explore, eat and renew friendships!

To all our Philadelphia friends our burgers today are in no way a “competition” to your delicious Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches but just a twist on a burger and a reminder of areas that evoke great memories for us.

We are continuing our week on Stuffed Burgers today. Another way to dress up a boring Burger.

Todays burger is stuffed with shaved beef, sautéed onion and some provolone cheese.

It is a beef lovers dream….

Philly Stuffed Burger
  1. In a sauté pan cover bottom with olive oil and heat for a minute, then throw in the onions and cook until soft and slightly browned. Be careful not to burn them, stir frequently.
  2. Remove from pan to a bowl and then add more oil to pan and add the shaved beef. Saute beef until cooked through.
  3. Add Tabasco/Franks sauce and salt and pepper
  4. Add shaved beef and onions in a food processor and pulse several times.
  5. Season Ground Beef with Salt and Pepper and divide into 12-16 patties. Remember they are going to be big burgers so you may want to share.
  6. You want the burger large enough to get a good sized amount of beef in the center of it and then be able to cover with 2nd patty.
  7. So put ½ a piece of cheese on patty then add shaved beef mixture, add other ½ of cheese and then over with the second patty.
  8. Be sure and seal edges well.
  9. Grill and Enjoy!
