Overnight French Toast

This recipe is one that has been a classic in our kitchen for many years.  It came from my sister-in-law Marcia many years ago.  Believe me once you start eating it you cannot stop.

Recently, I made this for a group of women at a retreat.  It was a big hit!  Whether you are having a houseful of company or just making breakfast for your family this is a great recipe.  Make it the night before and you are all set in the morning.  The syrup is quick to make so it can be made in the morning while the French Toast is baking.

I should add that this recipe is not for the faint at heart…when you see the ingredients you will know what I mean.  It is not a recipe that you will make every week, but it is great for that once in a while treat that will disappear fast.
