Doughnut Holes and a Bridal Shower

Doughnut Holes

Most of you are probably thinking hum…where are we going with this one…well, indulge me here as I talk about life here and now in kimmyscucina…grab your coffee and come sit at our table and let’s talk…

Who doesn’t love doughnuts!! I know I do.  When I got up this morning this is what I saw sitting on the counter…

Hannah, our oldest, a second grade teacher bought these for her classroom today for their “Poetry Reading”.  I guess Hannah is on my mind because tomorrow we are hosting her Bridal Shower and my mind is crazy with all kinds of plans and things that I have to do. But, as I looked at these things this is what I saw…

I saw my firstborn, a baby who is all grown up…

I saw an excited little girl that would always love to take trips because she knew that there would be a box of “munchkins” to snack on…

I saw a young woman who has an amazingly generous and giving spirit (and I am so proud of her)…

I saw a teacher that cares about her kids…

To all my children’s teachers and all my friends that are teachers, I have to say that I really didn’t APPRECIATE teachers until Hannah began her career.  They put so much of their time and heart and soul into their jobs.  THANK YOU for all you do!

Bridal Shower

Well, where did that little girl that loved her box of munchkins go?  All grown up and here we are planning her wedding in a few months.  WOW…

We are having an afternoon bridal shower, no “theme”.   Just food and some fun celebrating Hannah and this next step in her life.

One of her specific requests was NO “Group” GAMES…okay we can make that one happen…

So we are looking forward to an afternoon of celebrating and eating, what any great party should have!!!

We will be sure to post pictures and talk about the menu for the party next week.

YOUR WEEKEND MENU

So, as you read this and sip your coffee, maybe you are planning dinner for your family or for some company.  Well, if you need some ideas…How about some steaks on the grill and our Stuffed Potato Peppers.

Throw a nice simple salad in with it and you have a great dinner.  If you are feeling really adventurous maybe make our Apple Skillet Dessert.

If you are having a houseful of company, maybe you would like to start off with our Pancetta and Gorgonzola Tart.

Maybe you are heading over to someone’s house and you need to bring something, well I think that the Tart is your answer…just don’t forget it :-).

Thanks for joining us at kimmyscucina today…
