Eating our way Through Christmas

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating the holiday.  For The Sterry’s that meant being together.  And remembering a Savior who was born for us, and who gave His life for us.

As we settle into our week I wanted to share some pictures of a few dishes we have enjoyed these last few days.  Stop over for some leftovers, there are plenty!

Snippets of our weekend would be Chinese Cuisine for Christmas Eve.  The kids all picked a dish to make which turned out to be a fun day of cooking for all.  Hannah opted for lemon water so her job was a bit easier.  Zach made some delicious Beef and Broccoli and General Tso’s Chicken.  Olivia made some great egg rolls.  Gabby made some Steamed/Fried Dumplings and I filled in with some Fried Rice.  After enjoying some yummy cookies we all settled in with Hot Chocolate and a movie.  For years it was “A Christmas Carol”, but these past few years the movie of choice has been “A Christmas Story”.

Christmas Day our eating always begins with Cinnamon Rolls and Doughnuts and this year was no different!

For our dinner, later in the evening, Roger made a Rib Roast, cooked to perfection and the kids requested mashed potatoes, so I added a salad in there and our eating day was complete.

My hope for you this week is that you will reflect on the past few days with some wonderful memories of being with loved ones or thinking of loved ones. Have a wonderful day!
