Saturday mornings can be many different things to different people.
Who I think of first are, young families with all kinds of Saturday morning sport’s events. So they can be pretty crazy and not too relaxing at all. Added to the bustle of a busy week, it is just one more day to wake up and hit the ground running. But if I could just give you some words of wisdom, having raised 4 children (now ranging in ages from 24-16) those years fly by!!!
Our mornings are not quite like that anymore. For us a Saturday morning is usually relaxing with a cup of coffee, then maybe we may head out for a nice hike (this time of year) and come back and watch some football, while maybe preparing for some activity for the evening.
For some it truly is just a day to unwind, relax and decompress from the busy work week or catch up on all the stuff you couldn’t get to during the week. But still hopefully time to relax a little.
Tonight, for us, it is trying some “Nashville-Style” Fried Chicken and having some company. Roger had this a few weeks ago at the Prohibition Gastro Lounge in Powell and has been talking about it ever since. So we will give it a try. I will let you know how it comes out.
So whether you are having a quiet day or a crazy one, I hope you have a few minutes to just sit and relax with me for a bit. I just wanted to talk to you about some of the things I would like to see happen here as we get into this blog. First, as you read these recipes if they are not quite what you are looking for let me know! If you have a special diet, please let me know! Almost any of the recipes can be adapted to be many specific eating plans! Do you have plans for a dinner party and are wondering what would be a good menu for the evening? I would love to help you with some suggestions. I would also love to help you make decisions for your meal planning. Talk to me! If you are like me, you are probably tired of the same few meals that are easy to plan because they don’t require much thought, we all fall into that mode in the craziness of life!
Let me know I really would love to hear from you.
